Shiatsu is a form of Asian Bodywork Therapy based on the same theory and philosophy as acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu means “finger pressure” in Japanese. A Shiatsu therapist uses hand and finger pressure on the meridians and acupoints to promote the smooth flow of Qi, balance the body’s energy and bring a sense of well-being to body, mind and spirit. Clients wear loose and comfortable clothing. Shiatsu is a relaxing and restorative therapy that relies on the simple but powerful experience of touch to awaken the client’s own self-healing powers.
Page Wasson, Dipl. ABT (NCCAOM) is a certified Shiatsu therapist who has been in practice for 15 years. She “listens” with her fingers and responds to the varied needs of each individual with sensitivity. Her gentle touch along the energy meridians facilitates deep relaxation and restores a sense of ease and well-being to body, mind and spirit. In addition to her education and experience in Asian Medicine, Page brings to her practice an in-depth background in yoga, anatomy, dance, meditation and competitive swimming.
Page is available Tuesday afternoons and evenings. A 60 minute session is $75.
