500 Hour Therapeutic Teacher Training Program

The 500 Hour TriYoga Therapeutic Yoga Training program is research and evidenced based, taught by highly credentialed faculty.  Our goal is to advance the knowledge and practice of yoga therapy.

Each program is focused on a specific condition. The coarse includes background and evidential lecture material combined with yoga practice tailored for that condition.

Students will gain an understanding of how yoga can benefit someone with the subject condition, and how to modify to meet individual needs.

The TriYoga Therapeutic Yoga program is designed to be flexible to meet a variety of needs, including:

  • Yoga Teachers seeking a full YA certified 500-hr program; pre-requisite: 200 hour certification
  • Yoga Teachers looking for continuing education and YA credit hours .
  • Nurses and therapists interested in learning how  yoga can be used to help  patients. No pre-requisites,  can attend any workshop. Call to inquire about CEUs.
  • Patients who have the condition and wish to learn how to use yoga to optimize health and healing.

Program

Each therapeutic topic has 3 parts: Techniques, Methodology and Practicum. Each part is offered on a weekend.

Techniques includes an introduction to the topic by one of our distinguished faculty members, and an experience of practicing yoga tailored for that condition.

Methodology is appropriate for yoga teachers and students with the condition. It includes modifications, use of props, and hands-on alignment.  Students with the condition will have an opportunity to explore in what is most comfortable and beneficial for them.

Practicum is for those who wish to obtain a program certificate. It requires the teacher to teach a sample class. If the teacher demonstrates proficiency a certificate is given.
