Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

February 18 – 19

The essence of giving birth is relaxation, a profound letting go.

Conscious relaxation through prenatal yoga can greatly contribute to a comfortable pregnancy and labor, increasing the joy and easing the discomforts of the process. This training will provide knowledge, understanding and techniques to support pregnant women in experiencing their pregnancy and the birth of their child(ren) as consciously, naturally, and actively as possible.

Prenatal practices will be offered to give participants the experience of modifying and adapting TriYoga to the pregnant body. This will include how to use posture and flows, breathwork, vocal, abdominal, and pelvic toning, relaxation, concentration practices and visualization, and meditation with pregnant students. We will discuss working with women at different stages of pregnancy and with varying experience with yoga. We will consider the physiological changes and emotional transformations involved in pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Prenatal yoga will also be discussed as a way to cultivate flexibility, confidence, and calm in preparation for labor and childbirth.

Pregnant women seeking to deepen their understanding and practice during this sacred time of creating life; yoga teachers seeking knowledge of how to safely work with pregnant women, and special considerations for each trimester, those in the 200 Hour Basics Teacher Training program (it is one of the techniques alternatives); and those working towards the 500 Hour Therapeutic Teacher Training Certification.
